Students at The Sittingbourne Community College have been working tirelessly to honour those who fought and died in the First World War in order to commemorate 100 years since its end. All students were asked to contribute a piece of work to show their appreciation of those who sacrificed themselves during the Great War and all wars since.
In their English classes, our students have read a range of fiction and non-fiction texts about World War One, studied and analysed a range of war poetry, and have expressed their personal responses through a range of artistic mediums.
A large selection of the work produced by the students has been put on display in Sittingbourne Library, Central Avenue. The work will be displayed until the end of November and will be added to throughout the month. We hope that visitors enjoy reading the passionate and well-crafted responses produced by the students.
The staff at The Sittingbourne Community College would like to thank Sittingbourne Library for displaying the work and Karen Hollands, David Johns and Axminster Power Tools for their contributions and support with this project.
