Parent/Carer Ofsted Letter14/12/17
I am writing to inform you of the outcome of our latest Ofsted inspection on 21st and 22nd November. Happily, the school has retained its status as a ‘good school’ and whilst the overall report is available on the school website, the following excerpts capture the essence of the feedback from inspectors. ‘There is a harmonious atmosphere in the school’ and ‘pupils said they feel safe around the site’. The report was especially positive about leadership and describes leaders as pursuing ‘improvements in teaching and learning with vigour’ and that governors ‘focus relentlessly on checking any barriers to success are removed’. Above all, the report states that ‘the pace of change is rapid’ and that ‘teachers have high expectations and expect all pupils to give of their best’. I am delighted for the pupils, the staff and parents that Ofsted recognised the many strengths of the school. The end of term arrangements have changed slightly. We are now closing to pupils at 12.20 on Wednesday 20th December. Those pupils who are in receipt of school meals may collect their lunch at breaktime should they wish. We are also raising money for our two charities on the 20th December by asking pupils to pay 50p to wear their Christmas jumpers for the day. If your child should wish to take part please ensure they wear their jumper over their school shirt and under their blazer. I look forward to seeing all the pupils and staff looking suitably cheery and bright. Finally, I wish you and your families a safe and restful Christmas break and I look forward to seeing the pupils on the 4th January 2018.
